Bio
I received my training at the Sarasota (Florida) School of Massage Therapy and am a licensed massage therapist with a private practice in Sarasota. I specialize in neuromuscular therapy, Swedish and deep tissue massage, and also craniosacral therapy. I am a knowledgeable and intuitive therapist who works with you to develop an individual treatment plan addressing your specific needs and goals.
In addition to my private practice, I am affiliated part time with a chiropractic physician providing specifically targeted massage therapy as part of patients’ overall treatment plans.
I am originally from St. Joseph, Minnesota and most recently from Denver, Colorado, where I worked for seven years as a case manager and program coordinator with homeless women. My experience with poor and physically or mentally challenged people has deepened my compassion and desire to contribute to the wellness of all of my clients. I have served people with a wide variety of disabilities through a publicly-funded program in Florida. I seek opportunities to offer my professional services to children and adults in the community who might not otherwise access the healing benefits of massage.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota at Morris, I also had the privilege of serving as a year-long volunteer with the urban poor in Colorado and as a teacher of English in Baroda, India.
On a more personal note, I enjoy hiking, kayaking and improvisational comedy. Since moving to Florida in 2006, I spend as much time as possible exploring the natural environment of my new region. I am a theater and comedy performer and am affiliated with the Florida Studio Theater in Sarasosta.
